Gleison Bremer gives short update on his future amidst Tottenham links

Torino centre-back Gleison Bremer, who has been linked with a move to Tottenham this summer, has insisted that there have not been any developments regarding his future.

Clement Lenglet looks set to be the first centre-back to arrive at Spurs this summer, with the France international reportedly landing in London on Tuesday to complete his medical ahead of sealing a loan move (Sport).

Fabrizio Romano told GiveMeSport this week that even after signing Lenglet, he expects Spurs to be on the lookout for defensive reinforcements during this transfer window.

Bremer is one of the defenders who has been mooted as a target for Antonio Conte this summer, with Tottenham thought to be battling Inter Milan for the 25-year-old’s signature (Calciomercato).

90min reported last week that Torino want €50m(£43.2m) for the centre-back and that the Serie A club have already offered the player to multiple Premier League clubs.

However, Bremer has now indicated that there has been no progress regarding a summer transfer.

When asked for updates on his future, the defender simply responded to Football Italia: “No news.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Assuming Lenglet arrives and Sanchez leaves, that would leave Antonio Conte with five centre-back options for three positions. So, I am not convinced that Spurs will spend big on another central defender this summer.

The club might prefer to sign an up-and-coming prospect like Illya Zabarnyi, who is likely to be relatively inexpensive. Paratici might even look towards the EFL for a young defender, given Tottenham’s homegrown issues.
