Glenn Hoddle names Tottenham’s most important player

Tottenham Hotspur legend Glenn Hoddle has claimed that Son Heung-Min is Tottenham’s most important player after the South Korean’s fantastic performance against Burnley.

The 27-year-old was a constant menace for the Burnley defence right from kick-off on Saturday as he went past players with consummate ease and create numerous opportunities.

He scored what was arguably the goal of the season so far as he picked up the ball on the edge of his own penalty area and beat half of the Burnley side before slotting the ball past Nick Pope.

The home crowd at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium were left in disbelief by the forward’s amazing run and proceeded to give him a standing ovation.

New Spurs boss Jose Mourinho lavished praise on the pacey wide man following his display and insisted that he was a coach’s dream to work with (Football.London).

When asked if Son was now Tottenham’s most important player, Hoddle told BT Sport’s Score on 9/12/19 (as relayed by Football.London), “I think he is. He can score, he can create, and he is a finisher.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Son has just kept getting better and better since joining Tottenham back in 2015. The counter-attacking system that we play under Mourinho seems to suit his game perfectly. However, I still believe Harry Kane is Tottenham’s most important player as he is the best centre forward in world football.
