Glenn Hoddle posts first tweet since his heart attack and it’s about Tottenham

Glenn Hoddle has joked that Tottenham Hotspur’s match against Barcelona was not good for his recovery from a near-fatal heart attack.

The former Spurs midfielder and manager collapsed minutes after an appearance at the BT Sport studios on his 61st birthday on October 27 in Stratford.

He was resuscitated by sound engineer Simon Daniels, whose experience of first aid training kicked in.

Hoddle’s Tweet, which was added this morning was the first time he has posted a message on social media since suffering his cardiac arrest.

Following the incident, he underwent emergency surgery at St Bartholomew’s Hospital in the City of London. Two weeks after his collapse, he had a triple heart bypass operation and has been recuperating at home ever since.

Tottenham fans will be delighted to see that one of their legends has been well enough to watch their side in action.

During his playing career at White Hart Lane, Hoddle won the FA Cup twice and the Uefa Cup.

Hopefully, it won’t be too long before we see him back on our screens or in person at our new stadium.
