‘Go back there’ – Troy Parrott opens up on intention to return to Tottenham

Troy Parrott has vowed to keep improving during his loan spell at MK Dons, before returning to the Tottenham fold next season.

Parrott, 20, joined the Buckinghamshire-based side for the season and has impressed for the League One high-flyers since the turn of the year.

Despite netting just six goals this term, his selfless play of late earned him the club’s Player of the Month award for February (MK Dons).

Manager Liam Manning claimed Parrott has seen his hard work pay off recently after breaking a 21-game goal drought in a 3-1 win over Cheltenham earlier this month (BBC Sport).

And the Republic of Ireland international says he wants to keep getting better to prepare him for when he returns to parent club Spurs ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.

He said (via Irish Mirror): “I saw he [Manning] said that and I agree with it [his improved maturity]. It’s just realising some stuff and growing up as a person and as a player.

“I can only see ways I can improve when I’m playing as many games as I have, and learning the trade.

“I want to keep improving and go back there [Tottenham] and be the best I can be.”

The goals may not be flowing for Parrott at MK Dons, but that hasn’t taken away from how well he has performed of late.

He has earned plenty of praise from the manager and his teammates which shows he is doing something right and is definitely a positive for Spurs ahead of next season.

If he continues to keep improving, then there is no reason why he can’t place himself in contention for selection in match-day squads at least when he returns.
