‘GOAT’ – Some fans think this Spurs star was robbed of Player of the Season award

Tottenham Hotspur played out a 2-2 draw against Everton at the new stadium in their final Premier League game of the season.

The game was a typical end of the season fixture as it was played at a slow tempo and both teams made several unforced errors.

After the game, the end of the season awards were given out, and Son Heung-Min took home the club’s Player of the Season award.

The club streamed the post-match ceremony live on their official twitter handle, and the South Korean was delighted to pick up the award.

However, some Spurs fans on social media weren’t pleased with the fact that midfielder Moussa Sissoko was overlooked for the honour.

Sissoko has completely turned his Tottenham career around this season and has been one of the club’s most important players, at a time when Tottenham had several injuries in the middle of the park.

Some fans felt that giving Sissoko the award was a no brainer. Check out how they reacted on social media:

While Sissoko has no doubt been outstanding this season, we believe Son deserves the award as he just edges out the Frenchman.

Son’s goals have been crucial to Tottenham’s brilliant run in the Champions League, and the South Korean has stepped up at important times in the season when Spurs were missing important players.

Additionally, the 26-year-old showed tremendous energy levels this season despite playing two international tournaments with South Korea during the season.
