‘Going to struggle’ – Pundit makes top four prediction between Spurs, Arsenal and Chelsea

Ray Parlour has claimed Tottenham will secure a place in the Premier League top four alongside Arsenal and at the expense of Chelsea.

The race for Champions League spots this season is expected to be more competitive than the last with plenty of sides towards the top strengthening their respective squads.

Spurs, who finished fourth on the final day of last term, have looked to keep their progression under Antonio Conte going by making six new signings, adding the likes of Richarlison, Yves Bissouma and Ivan Perisic.

Pipped to the place by their fierce rivals, Arsenal have also brought in plenty of bodies to avoid their late-season disappointment from happening again, with Gabriel Jesus fronting their business so far.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have been relatively quiet on the transfer front but have still managed to make big recruitments in Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly.

With just over one week until the start of the campaign, Parlour believes the Blues may not have enough quality to reach the top four and could be overtaken by the North London pair.

He told talkSPORT (28/07/22): “I would go Manchester City to win it. Then Liverpool, definitely. I think Arsenal have to aim for third. That’s going to be their aim.

“If they can keep everyone fit, one more player coming in, then they have a decent squad, so I am going to go third for Arsenal and then Spurs will be good [for fourth place].

“But I think Chelsea are going to struggle this season. Unless they make some signings, they might make a couple before the window closes and then you might change your mind. However, Spurs have to win a trophy.”

Spurs Web Opinion

The top four race will be very competitive this season with Spurs and Arsenal making improvements to their respective squads.

Chelsea’s two big signings are obviously something to also be aware of but they may need more in terms of bodies. However, it will not necessarily mean they will drop out of those spots instantly.
