‘Going very well for all three’ – Kulusevski opens up on playing with Kane and Son

Dejan Kulusevski has admitted that he is enjoying playing alongside Harry Kane and Son Heung-min, insisting that Tottenham’s famed forward duo put the needs of the team first.

Kulusevski has been a revelation since he joined Spurs from Juventus in January, with the Swede having scored thrice and provided eight assists already in the Premier League (Transfermarkt).

The 21-year-old has added a different dimension to Tottenham’s attack, given his ability to pick up the ball in half-spaces and run at defenders.

The winger raved about the unselfish nature of Kane and Son, admitting that they are focused on helping the team win.

When asked about playing alongside the deadliest strike partnership in Premier League history, the former Juve man said on Stadium Astro (starting at 2:45): “I think it’s going very well for all three of us because when one is scoring everyone is scoring.

“When one is assisting, everyone is assisting. So we help each other and we’re doing it for the team.”

Kulusevski is certainly no stranger to playing with big-name superstars, having featured alongside the likes of Paulo Dybala and Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus.

The winger credited Antonio Conte’s system with getting the best out of him and Tottenham’s other attackers.

When asked how playing with Kane and Son compares with partnering Dybala and Ronaldo, Kulusevski responded: “They are different players, absolutely, it’s a new system and it’s working very well, and our coach, Antonio Conte is a major part of that because he’s telling us what to do and the things he tells us actually happen in the game.”

Reading between the lines of Kulusevskui’s statement, it seems like he is surprised by the unselfishness of Kane and Son, compared to the likes of Ronaldo.

World-class forwards are usually quite selfish, which is what makes them the kind of goal scorers they are. We are very lucky to have two of the best in the world in Kane and Son, who are both team players.
