Gomes admits Spurs are missing Defoe

Heurelho Gomes admits that Tottenham are missing the presence of Jermain Defoe in attack.

The striker is still sidelined after ankle surgery, but could be back in action in early December.

There’s no doubt that we’re missing Defoe’s clinical finishing in attack, but Gomes believes it’s up to the rest of the squad to fill the void in front of goal.

“We miss him a lot because he is a goal- scorer,” said Gomes. “All the time when a player gives him the ball you expect something.

“Of course we miss him, but we have to keep going and other players have to try to score goals for us.”
