‘Good connection’ – Grealish admits he loves playing with Harry Kane

Jack Grealish has lavished praise on Harry Kane, admitting that he loves playing behind the England captain in the number ten role.

There is a massive question mark over Kane’s future at Tottenham after the striker admitted in an interview with Gary Neville last month that he wants to win trophies and will have a conversation with Daniel Levy about his plans.

However, Gareth Southgate confirmed that any potential transfer will only happen after the European Championships and backed Kane to put the speculation aside and focus on the task at hand.

England certainly need the Tottenham man firing if they are going to go one further in the Euros than they did in the World Cup back in 2018.

Southgate is spoilt for choice regarding who he plays alongside Kane up front, with the likes of Grealish, Mason Mount, Phil Foden, Marcus Rashford, Raheem Sterling and Jadon Sancho all seemingly vying for two or three spots in the team.

Grealish and Kane displayed good chemistry when they played together in the Nations League clashes back in November.

The Aston Villa man, who came close to a move to Spurs back in 2018, admitted that there is no one better to play behind than Kane.

After shining in the Three Lions’ 1-0 win over Romania on Sunday, the midfielder told The Guardian: “I love that No 10 role.

“I’ll play anywhere, off the left or right, but that No 10.

“I don’t think there is anyone better in the world to play with in front of you than Harry Kane.

“I feel we have a good connection in training and in games.

“I just go out there to try to perform and try to create that one piece of magic.”
