‘Good contributions’ – Mourinho asked whether Danny Rose will leave Spurs this month

Jose Mourinho was asked today whether Danny Rose is expected to leave Tottenham Hotspur in the January transfer market, to which the head coach replied that he simply did not know.

Mourinho added that Rose has been working with the U23 side this season and that the experienced left-back has been contributing well to help the youth team.

Sky Sports reporter, Kaveh Solhekol recently told The Transfer Show (05/01/21 at 19:50) that West Brom were looking at the Tottenham defender this month as a possible new signing.

However, it was hinted that Rose would have to first sort out his contract situation in North London before the Baggies could move for him.

The left-back currently has just six months remaining on his contract, meaning that he is set to leave on a free transfer in the summer.

Rose was not given a Spurs first-team squad number or a spot in the Premier League squad at the start of the 20/21 campaign.

When asked about Rose, Mourinho said (Football London): “I don’t know [if he will leave this month]. Honestly, I don’t know. Working with the U23s and playing with them sometimes and well, the times I watched them. Good contribution with them to help them.”
