‘Good memories from playing there’ – Dejan Kulusevski looking forward to Man City clash

Speaking to the Evening Standard after the defeat to Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur star Dejan Kulusveski has already started to look ahead to the big tie with Manchester City coming up in midweek.

Tottenham will be looking to bounce back after a crushing defeat to local rivals Arsenal on Sunday evening. The Gunners left the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with all three points after a comfortable 2-0 win, during which Spurs struggled to compete.

It’s a result which puts Arsenal now eight points clear of Manchester City at the top of the table, and a huge 14 points clear of Tottenham.

As for the Lilywhites, a place in the top four of the Premier League is looking less and less likely, as the teams around them continue to get the results needed to pull away from the chasing pack.

Up next for Spurs is a trip to Manchester to face Pep Guardiola’s side, in what could be a crucial fixture for both teams. The importance of the game is not lost on Kulusevski, who has already turned his attention to the clash with the Citizens.

He said: “Of course, we have good memories from playing there. I’m looking forward to it. It’s going to be a very difficult game but we have to do everything right. Like I said, you cannot be sad. You have to move on. Never too high, never too low.

“We’re going to go there and play an important game against an important team. We have to be ready and do what we’ve got to do. We have to prepare, we have to show our character and we’re going to be ready. We always have belief we can get in the top four.”

The horrible thing about the Manchester City game is, we are absolutely desperate for the points, but if we win, we just give Arsenal an even better chance of winning the title. Still, we have to give our all and pull out a positive result on Thursday, or things could get really ugly for everyone involved with the club.
