Tottenham Hotspur have received some good news regarding Alejo Veliz, with the on-loan striker’s recent injury reportedly not as bad as initially feared.
Veliz has played regularly since returning to Rosario Central on loan in the summer, and the striker has found the back of the net once so far back at his boyhood club.
However, he came off injured in Rosario’s 1-1 draw with Boca Juniors over the weekend, and there were some concerns about the youngster ahead of the scan.
Over recent days, some sources have claimed that there are fears at Rosario that Veliz’s injury might be serious, but the Spurs striker can now breathe a sigh of relief as the worst fears have not come true.

Tottenham receive a positive Alejo Veliz injury update
Rosario Central have now taken to social media to confirm that Veliz suffered a “Grade 2 acromioclavicular injury in his right shoulder” but they do not provide a timeline for his recovery.
Argentine publication La Capital, expanded on this news, explaining that the Tottenham Hotspur player has suffered a “partial tear of the ligaments that support the joint between the clavicle and shoulder bones, specifically called the acromioclavicular joint.”
The outlet also says that Veliz will not need to go under the knife for this injury, which can be cured by conservative treatment, which is great news for the 21-year-old.
How long will Veliz be out for?
According to La Capital, Veliz will have to wear a sling for a few days to restrict movement and reduce swelling.
Meanwhile, a different outlet, Rosario Nuestro, adds that the on-loan Spurs man is expected to be sidelined for only three or four weeks.
The Tottenham striker could thus be back on the pitch shortly, and he will want to make his mark at Estadio Gigante de Arroyito before his temporary spell at the club comes to an end.
