‘Good news at last’ – Some Spurs fans pleased by update on four players

Some Tottenham fans on social media are pleased to hear that the club’s South American contingent could be available for the clash against Newcastle.

Giovani Lo Celso and Cristian Romero have been part of Argentina’s squad during the international break while Davinson Sanchez and Emerson Royal are part of the Colombia and Brazil squads respectively.

It was reported last week that Spurs were hoping all four players would be released before their third match so they could serve their quarantine and play in the Premier League game against Newcastle United on October 17th.

It subsequently emerged that none of the South American Premier League players were going to be released early by their nations, which meant that they were all major doubts for the next round of fixtures.

However, The Telegraph reported on Tuesday that Lo Celso, Romero, Sanchez and Emerson could return to England via a private jet following their potential involvement in fixtures later this week.

It was explained that the arrangement could mean they could be available for Sunday afternoon’s clash against Newcastle.

Some Spurs fans on social media were relieved to hear the update. Here’s how they reacted:

While the availability of the four players is certainly a boost to Nuno, it remains to be seen whether the Spurs boss will start any of them at St James’ Park.

Considering that the four players could be in action on Thursday night and will only fly back to the UK on Friday, Nuno could opt to name them on the bench and start with the players who have been training at Hotspur Way through the international break.
