William Gallas - Tottenham news

Fears over the fitness of William Gallas have been eased after he received positive news on his injury scan.

The Spurs defender picked up a hamstring problem in training on Tuesday and there was concern he could be missing for a month.  Instead he could be available for Saturday’s visit of West Ham.

A statement on the club’s official website read: “A scan this afternoon (Wednesday) has reported that William Gallas has not suffered a fresh hamstring injury.

“The France defender had pulled up in training yesterday concerned about his hamstring.

“He will now be assessed over the coming days to determine his availability for this weekend’s home Premier League fixture against West Ham United.”

  1. This is going to be the problem some of the players are not going to play in the Premiership and Gallas is not one of them because he has played at Blackpool and Wolves . My big concern is this two players are avoiding getting us into fourth No make that three Bale Van and Modric are constantly being linked with a moves away and our fans always say we need to get into fourth to keep our players and since the rumours our stars have gone awol and so has our form. I hope this is way of the mark but i had the same feeling about Carrick and Berbatov. Harry courting England cant help the situation and he will have to stop playing both of them till they both are 100 percent fit both looked way of the pace against Milan now we have Defoe damaged for the West Ham game because Harry backed the wrong players. How can he motivate Defoe when he sat watching a players not fit playing in the big game i fear for our run in because of these players Modric Bale Van and Pieanaar who is not yet adjusted to his move

    • No, the problem is that we haven't got an in-form striker who is scoring goals. Look at everyone above us – Herandez/Berbatov for united, Drogba/Anelka for chelsea, van Persie for Arsenal and Tevez/Dzeko for City. Our top goal scorers are midfielders ffs! We've wasted too many chances at bringing in a striker and I think this, if anything, is what could be affecting our midfielders. Because they know they have to do all the hard work. We'll be lucky to get 5th this season. For sure

  2. Question: why do our players get injured so much? What are we doing wrong? Every week is some “small groin problem” or something of the sort. Do the players not stretch properly? What’s the deal, seriously

  3. Hopefully he will not be rushed in for the West Ham game which could aggrevate his injury. There are other options on the bench. You cannot take chances to regret later.

  4. I think the single biggest reason why we may not get fourth and the persistent injuries to VDV, and eventually to Bale, is Harry's under use of Niko. He could have rotated Niko with those two and taken the pressure off them. Bale does do well against tired teams towards the end of games but there have been some games where he clearly wasn't working and Niko didn't even get a sniff. It's not like he can't be trusted. He was one of our best midfielders last season scoring lots of important goals. You don't always have to start Bale, Niko is better than most midfielders in the prem, you can always bring bale on.

I also now worry for Benoit who has played nearly every game, Harry seemed to forget about the possibility of shifting bale to left back when we needed to be a bit more attacking. This could have seen Benoit getting the occasional rest and Niko more playing time. It will be a travesty when he leaves in the summer.
