‘Good to be back’ – Spurs star takes to Twitter to express his delight at recall

Tottenham Hotspur’s summer signing Ryan Sessegnon has earned a recall to the England U-21 squad after missing the first three months of the season with a hamstring injury.

Sessegnon picked up the injury while in action for the Young Lions at the UEFA European Under-21 Championships where they crashed out from the tournament early.

The injury meant that the 19-year-old didn’t enjoy a full pre-season with Spurs and hasn’t been able to integrate with the first team as quickly as he would have liked.

However, the former Fulham defender has now fully recovered from the injury and has trained with the Tottenham first team for several weeks.

Although he is yet to start a game for his new club, he has come on from the bench on a couple of occasions and even got an assist to his name against Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League last Wednesday.

Those cameos were apparently enough to earn Sessegnon a recall and the defender took to social media to reveal his delight at being back among the squad.

Spurs Web Opinion

While Ryan Sessegnon clearly has an abundance of talent, he is still very much raw and so it is going to take time for him to refine his game. Pochettino has proven that he is an expert in helping full backs improve both offensively and defensively, and so I am excited to see what he cant do with Sessegnon.
