‘Good to be back’ – Spurs striker takes to social media after pre-season training

Dane Scarlett has taken to social media to admit that it is good to be back at Hotspur Way for pre-season as the youngster looks to make an impression on new Tottenham head coach Nuno Espirito Santo.

Nuno has been getting his first look at the Tottenham squad over the last week. While the players who were involved in the European Championships and Copa America are still on holiday, the majority of the squad are being put through their paces back at the club’s training ground.

Scarlett shot into the limelight last season by scoring 17 goals in 16 appearances for the Club’s Under-18s and three in five outings for the Under-23s (Transfermarkt).

The youngster was rewarded for his impressive form by being called up to train with the first team, with Jose Mourinho even handing the teenager his Premier League debut as well as two outings in the Europa League.

The striker, who became the youngest ever player to make a senior appearance for the club last campaign, will be hoping to build on the impressive start to his Spurs career.

In April, Scarlett picked up picked up an injury in a recent Spurs youth match and faced a spell on the sidelines (Alasdair Gold).

The striker certainly seems raring to go based on his latest social media post.

Even if Nuno employs two upfront as some reports suggest, Scarlett will likely find it difficult to get game time for the first-team next season. So, I would not mind seeing him sent on loan to a Championship or a League One club this summer.
