Graeme Souness makes bleak prediction of where Spurs could finish in the Premier League table

Graeme Souness has offered a bleak prediction of how Tottenham Hotspur’s Premier League campaign could unfold this season.

The North Londoners suffered their fifth defeat in the top flight inside just ten matches played during the current campaign after they were on the receiving end of a 3-0 defeat to Manchester United at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Both Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Nuno Espirito Santo came into the fixture under pressure following respective indifferent starts and by the end of the final whistle, it was evident which of the two teams have the bigger task on their hands.

Nuno bore the wrath of the home supporters and was subjected to boos throughout as Spurs barely looked to threaten the United goal.

Tottenham have now gone 2 hours and 16 minutes of Premier League action since they last registered an attempt on goal when Harry Kane had a header saved during the first half of last weekend’s loss at West Ham United.

Souness believes that Spurs will be lucky to finish in mid-table in the Premier League come the end of the season.

He told Sky Sports: “Not a shot on target. They [the fans] will go home a frustrating group wondering where this team will go this year.

“Well, I think it is pretty obvious. You don’t know what you’re getting, so I think mid-table at best. It could be a difficult season for Spurs.
