Graeme Souness predicts who will finish in the top four in the Premier League

Tottenham Hotspur saw their top-four hopes severely dented this week as they lost to Wolverhampton Wanderers at home, despite leading the game twice.

This came just one week after Spurs had lost away to Chelsea, another top-four rival, seeing the likes of Man United and Wolves overtake the Lilywhites in the table.

Spurs had the chance to break into the top four for the first time under Mourinho with a win at Stamford Bridge, but squandered such an opportunity.

They could have also capitalised on both United and Chelsea picking up draws this weekend, if not for the frustrating 3-2 loss at the hands of Wolves.

Chelsea currently sit in fourth in the league table on 45 points, with Man United in fifth on 42 points, Wolves behind them only on goal difference, and Spurs in seventh on 40 points.

The Lilywhites will need a big end to the season if they are to turn things around and break into those Champions League spots.

However, Graeme Souness has backed Man United to be the final team to finish in the top four, behind Liverpool, Man City, and Leicester City.

He said (Sky Sports Main Event 01/03/20 at 14:00): “Manchester United are playing with confidence and belief and they can see light at the end of the tunnel.

“I think they will make the top four, they have a great chance when you look at what the others are doing.

“Chelsea are having a blip at the wrong time and Spurs have both of their main forwards out. Their most creative player is long gone.

“I see United making the top four.”
