Graham Potter makes Tariq Lamptey claim amidst links with Spurs and Arsenal

Amidst the speculation linking Tariq Lamptey with a move to Tottenham, Brighton boss Graham Potter has revealed that the club have not received any offers for the right-back.

Antonio Conte is expected to prioritise adding a right-wing-back and a striker to his Tottenham squad in this month’s transfer window.

Lamptey, who was linked with a move to Tottenham last summer, is alleged to be one of the right-backs on Conte’s radar at the moment, with the club thought to be facing competition for the youngster from their North London rivals Arsenal.

The Chelsea academy graduate has caught the eye since his move to Brighton and is having another fantastic campaign at the Amex Stadium.

It was alleged during the summer that the Seagulls valued the England Under-21 international at around £50m.

Potter has now insisted that he is not worried about the speculation regarding Lamptey’s future and he expects the youngster to stay.

When asked about the reports regarding the right-back’s potential exit, the 46-year-old told The Metro: “I’d expect all our players to be with us [come the end of January].

“There is a lot of speculation out there but nothing to report. Speculation means we are doing something well, as a team and a club. There has been no bids so far.”

Lamptey would be a fantastic signing as he evidently has a high ceiling and could become a top player under Conte. However, the Brighton man is likely going to prove much more expensive than the likes of Adama Traore since he has three and a half years left on his contract at the Amex Stadium.
