Graham Roberts describes three former Spurs players as ‘numpties’

Tottenham Hotspur took on Liverpool at the new stadium in North London yesterday evening, only to continue their winless streak with a 1-0 loss.

This followed on from a 1-1 draw against Championship Middlesbrough in the FA Cup, a loss to Southampton on New Years Day and a draw against Norwich City in late 2019.

However, perhaps some Spurs fans will consider themselves unlucky with a couple of decisions throughout the match at home to the league leaders.

In the build-up to the Liverpool goal, Serge Aurier appeared to slide in and play the ball against Sadio Mane for a Tottenham throw, only for the referee to give it the other way. Liverpool then scored from the resulting chance.

Not only this, but Tottenham legend Graham Roberts believes that Andrew Robertson should have seen red for a challenge on Japhet Tanganga’s ankle in the second half.

Roberts tweeted that he was watching Match of the Day (BBC1 11/01/19 at 10:30 pm) and labelled the three ex-Spurs players Gary Linekar, Jermaine Jenas, and Danny Murphy as ‘numpties’ for thinking otherwise.
