Graham Roberts labels talkSPORT host’s rant at Spurs as an ‘absolute joke’

Tottenham Hotspur’s Premier League encounter at Manchester City on Saturday evening has certainly caused a talking point for many following the late VAR decision.

talkSPORT host and Spurs supporter Danny Kelly claimed live on air that Mauricio Pochettino’s side should have lost the match to the Premier League champions by six clear goals.

Kelly went on to further suggest that Spurs set up for the match against the current Premier League champions scared whilst also expressing his belief that Pep Guardiola has influenced other managers in trying to play out from the back.

Kelly’s comments sparked a reaction from former Spurs defender Graham Roberts who labelled the assessment as an ‘absolute joke’.

Roberts defended Tottenham’s performance by insisting that sometimes a team has to roll up their sleeves and battle.

While City certainly did dominate the proceedings which included thirty shots to Tottenham’s three, the only stat that mattered, in the end, was the 2-2 scoreline.
