Graham Roberts questions professionalism of Spurs player who lacks ‘passion and hunger’

Former Tottenham Hotspur defender Graham Roberts has described Tanguy Ndombele as being his ‘own worst enemy’ for not living up to his talent.

The 25-year-old arrived in north London for a club record £63m from Lyon in July 2019 and completed a return to the Ligue 1 outfit in January for the remainder of the campaign having failed to live up to the heights expected of him (Sky Sports).

CalcioMercato claimed earlier this week that Lyon had decided against taking up the option to make the deal permanent, with the midfielder set to return back to Hotspur Way this summer where he will still have three years remaining on his contract.

Lyon had the option to re-sign him permanently for £54million in the summer with his future now appearing to be uncertain.

The Evening Standard recently claimed that Antonio Conte sees no future for the French international at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Responding to a post on Twitter, Roberts questioned the professionalism of the Spurs man.

Tottenham will be hoping that Ndombele can have a strong end to the campaign to put himself in the shop window with a view for either a permanent exit, or another season-long loan deal which will help to ease the burden of his £200,000-a-week salary.
