Tottenham Hotspur appear to be close to securing the signing of Manor Solomon, and former Lilywhites star Graham Roberts has given the move his own seal of approval.
It has been a busy summer already for Spurs, with Guglielmo Vicario and James Maddison arriving at the club from Empoli and Leicester City respectively.
Dejan Kulusevski’s loan from Juventus has been made a permanent move, too.
New Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou is not finished there, however. The Australian has made it clear to the Spurs board that he wants to sign a new centre-back this summer (90 Min).
Many suspected the next face through the door at Hotspur Way would be a defender, but a fourth signing of the transfer window looks to be happening soon and it is in attack that the Spurs squad will be reinforced.
Graham Roberts full of praise for Manor Solomon
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano announced this weekend that Spurs were close to confirming the capture of Manor Solomon on a free transfer from Shakhtar Donetsk.
In response, Roberts tweeted: “Delighted with this. An excellent young player who knows exactly where the goal is.”
The winger had spent the 2022/23 campaign on loan with Fulham due to the continued conflict in Ukraine.
Solomon bagged five goals for the Cottagers in 24 appearances last term (Transfermarkt) and impressed many with his ability to make a difference from the bench.
The Israeli star is expected to be released from his contract with Shakhtar this summer given the situation in Ukraine.
The move now only depends on FIFA ruling in favour of players being allowed to leave clubs based in the country.
Spurs Web Opinion
This would be a fantastic signing, especially on a free transfer.
Solomon has already proven how effective he can be from the bench, and it’s likely that would be his role at Spurs, too.
He will be a really solid supplement to our attack.
