Graham Roberts shares his frustration on Twitter after Watford draw

Tottenham needed a convincing win against Watford who are rooted to the bottom of the table given the pressure that has been building up on the North London side in recent weeks.

However, the performance on Saturday did nothing to suggest that things are on the mend as Spurs once again looked extremely shaky defensively and failed to fashion any clear cut chances in the final third.

While Spurs’ second half performance was much improved, a draw was the least the visitors deserved as they wasted several chances to further extend their lead.

Mauricio Pochettino felt that the atmosphere at the stadium didn’t help the players (Football.London) but Spurs legend Graham Roberts has disagreed with the Argentine and praised the fans for their support throughout the ninety minutes.

However, the former defender was extremely critical of the refereeing performance along as Hornets goalkeeper Ben Foster for wasting time during the match.

While the performance was far from convincing, one cannot overestimate the value of Alli’s equaliser at the end. Another home defeat would have likely seen more fans demanding Pochettino to be sacked. We now desperately need a convincing win against Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League on Tuesday.
