Graham Roberts singles out Spurs player for praise

Former Tottenham Hotspur player Graham Roberts has singled out Harry Winks for special praise following the 2-0 win at Leicester City.

Roberts, who helped Tottenham to lift the UEFA Cup in 1984 took to Twitter to recognise the performance of Winks by claiming that he “ran the show in midfield.”

Winks is starting to show some of the form that saw him earn his first England cap in October of last year. The Spurs academy product saw his progression suffer a setback due to an ankle injury.

He was sidelined from last February for the remainder of the campaign which saw him undergo ankle surgery in a bid to overcome the issue.

Such is Tottenham’s belief in the 22-year-old’s potential, they handed him a new contract in May that will keep him at the club until 2023.

One of Winks’ standout performances in a Spurs shirt came last season at Real Madrid, Spurs fans will be hoping for a similar display against Barcelona on Tuesday night.
