Graham Roberts takes to Twitter to fume over Spurs’ VAR incident at Southampton

Former Tottenham Hotspur defender Graham Roberts has questioned the controversial VAR decision which robbed the North Londoners of a second goal at Southampton.

The visitors thought they had gone ahead for the first time in their Premier League encounter against the Saints in the 53rd minute when a superb ball over the top of the defence from Harry Winks fell to the feet of Harry Kane and the forward took a brilliant first touch before firing the ball beyond Fraser Forster.

The goal was chalked off by Martin Atkinson who was in charge of VAR, who claimed that Kane was marginally offside when Winks had played his pass.

Roberts took to Twitter to vent his frustration over the incident and questioned when action will be taken for officials to be punished for their mistakes.

Tottenham’s inability to score a winner saw them held to a 1-1 draw and dropped two valuable points against their 10-man opponents.
