“Grasping at straws” – Some fans laugh off suggestions of a design flaw in new stadium

The former players and pundits who have been to Tottenham’s new stadium have all raved about it, with many labelling it the best in the world.

Not only is the stadium the biggest in London for a club side, but the fans are positoned surprisingly close to the pitch. On the evidence of the three games played at the ground so far, the stadium also appears to be quite atmospheric, unlike many other modern-day stadiums such as the Emirates.

Additionally, it boasts of several other unique features like a retractable pitch to accommodate NFL games, an unparalleled selection of food and drink outlets and also the UK’s biggest single tier stand.

So naturally, opposition fans are quite jealous of what Tottenham have been able to create and have tried to point out flaws in the venue.

During Spurs’ game against Huddersfield on Saturday, some Arsenal fans noticed that the cockerel placed on the top of the south stand created an unfortunate shadow on the pitch

However, rather than getting sucked into a Twitter spat, Spurs fans rightly laughed off these suggestions from Gunners as sour grapes.
