Grealish closes in on Tottenham move

Jack Grealish’s supposed move to Tottenham appears to have stepped up a gear as Mauricio Pochettino’s side have emerged as clear frontrunners to sign the Aston Villa star.

An article by The Daily Mail says the Spurs boss would like to add the 22-year-old to his squad having tracked his progress last season.

It goes on to say that negotiations over a fee are expected as the transfer window activity begins to pick up pace, with Aston Villa wanting £30million for the England Under 21 international.

It does add however that Spurs would though look to try to take advantage of Villa’s well known cash-flow issues and a initial offer in the region of £15m has been mentioned but Villa are determined to push the price well above £20m.

It goes on to say that matters are further complicated by the dismissals of chief executive Keith Wyness and director of football Steve Round at Villa Park, leaving manager Steve Bruce to take on extra responsibility over transfers.
