It is that time of the year again when football fans start getting really excited as the new Premier League season is almost upon us.
While Tottenham have not yet done as much business as Spurs fans would like so far, the last week of the transfer window is expected to be a busy one for the club (Standard).
Despite the lack of signings, Mauricio Pochettino’s team have looked in terrific touch through preseason, overcoming the likes of Juventus, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
The only negative to come out of preseason so far was the injury that Juan Foyth picked up in the game against Bayern.
The Argentinean international, who is also expected to vie for the right-back slot next season, had to be stretchered off in the second half. While the club are still waiting for a confirmation about the extent of Foyth’s injury, it is unlikely that he be fit to face Aston Villa next week.
This is why some Spurs fans were quite pleased when the club reported that Serge Aurier is back in first-team training at Hotspur Way after recovering from the injury he picked up during the African Cup of Nations.
Midfielder Eric Dier has also now begun training with the first team. Here’s how some fans reacted to the news:
Great news. Good to have them back. Hopefully they’ll be fit to play some part this weekend.

Spurs Web Opinion
It is fantastic news that Aurier is back to training as Spurs faced the prospect of starting the season with Kyle Walker-Peters as the only fit right back. While great things are expected from Foyth in the future, we at Spurs Web believe that Aurier will able to show his quality if he manages to stay fit through the season.
