‘Great win’ – Former Spurs chairman changes tune on Mourinho after NLD win

Former Tottenham Hotspur chairman, Alan Sugar, has taken to social media to reveal his delight at Spurs’ win over Arsenal in the North London Derby on Sunday.

Sugar, a life-long Spurs fan, was delighted at the Lilywhites managing to get one over on an old enemy, making a change from his reaction last week.

The ex-chairman was far from pleased after Tottenham’s 0-0 draw against Bournemouth last Thursday as he called for Mauricio Pochettino to come back to Spurs.

However, the 73-year-old seemed to change his tune after Tottenham beat Mikel Arteta’s side and leapfrogged them in the table.

The former Spurs chairman retweeted Jose Mourinho’s stats from the 32 games that he’s been in charge at Spurs and insisted that the jury was still out on the Spurs boss.

To go from wanting Pochettino back to hinting that he is undecided on Mourinho, it looks as if the performance against Arsenal has forced Sugar to reconsider his stance on the new Spurs boss.

Spurs Web Opinion

The win over Arsenal has certainly bought Mourinho some goodwill and time among the Tottenham fan base. I suspect Sugar was not the only one who was fed up with Jose following the abject scoreless draw against Bournemouth. However, there were signs against Arsenal that the team is adapting to Jose’s methods and moving in the right direction. I am still not convinced that we are capable of breaking down low blocks but Jose certainly deserves time to show what he can do.
