Gross sacked by Stuttgart

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Christian Gross has been sacked by VfB Stuttgart.

Gross spent nine months in charge at Tottenham during 1997/98 before being fired by Alan Sugar.

The 56-year-old had only managed to win one of the opening seven games for the Bundesliga outfit this season.

A statement on the official VfB Stuttgart website read: “Following detailed analysis of the current sporting situation, Christian Gross has been relieved of his duties as head coach of VfB Stuttgart with immediate effect. From today, Jens Keller will take charge of the first team and prepare the side for their away clash with FC Schalke 04 on Saturday.”
