‘Ground it out’ – Kane posts message after scoring in Spurs win over Burnley

Harry Kane has taken to Instagram after helping Tottenham earn a crucial three points against Burnley in the race to finish in the Premier League top four.

Spurs added to their commanding victory over Arsenal in midweek with a 1-0 win against the Clarets, with Kane’s first-half penalty the lone goal in the encounter.

The England captain rolled his effort confidently into the corner beyond Nick Pope after referee Kevin Friend consulted his VAR monitor to check for a handball against Burnley’s Ashley Barnes.

The decision ultimately proved the be the relegation-threatened visitors’ downfall, who made it difficult for Spurs overall when it came to breaking them down.

And goalscorer Kane has now posted a message hailing his Tottenham teammates for their effort in securing a vital win ahead of next weekend’s season finale.

He said: “Massive effort from the lads. Ground it out! One last push next weekend.”

Spurs travel to relegated Norwich on the final day needing a win to maintain their chance of reaching the Champions League, while Arsenal host Everton.

Burnley made it very tough for Spurs to break through and they defended exactly how plenty expected them to, considering they also needed the points.

A penalty did seem like one of the only ways Spurs were going to score and luckily they have one of the best in the world from the spot to get the job done.
