‘Growing optimism’ – Fabrizio Romano provides positive update on potential second Spurs deal

Fabrizio Romano has taken to Twitter this afternoon to reveal there is growing optimism that a deal will be reached between Tottenham Hotspur and Sporting CP for Pedro Porro.

Talks over a move for the Spanish defender have been taking place in Lisbon today and the Portuguese giants are now searching the transfer market to bring in a replacement for the former Manchester City man.

The Daily Mail reported earlier that Tottenham were keen to get the deal wrapped up today amid fears that rivals Chelsea could look to hijack the transfer as they look to provide competition for Reece James on the right side of their defence.

Romano now claims that all parties involved in the negotiations believe a deal could be agreed soon after today’s meeting, with the Spaniard set to become Tottenham’s second signing of the January transfer window following the announcement that Arnaut Danjuma has joined Spurs on loan for the remainder of the campaign from Villarreal.
