Guglielmo Vicario has admitted that the Tottenham players could do with the fans getting behind the team when they are trying to chase the game.
Thomas Frank expressed a desire to make the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium a fortress earlier this season, but it is proving the exact opposite at the moment.
Tottenham’s home form has been relegation-worthy this season, in stark contrast to their away record, which has been almost spotless.
Some pundits have suggested that the Spurs players are struggling to cope with the pressure of their demanding fans when they play at home.

Guglielmo Vicario calls on Tottenham fans to get behind the side
There was loud jeering not just after the final whistle against Chelsea, but also during the game as Tottenham Hotspur were trying to come back from a goal down.
Vicario has admitted that it would help the team if the supporters are behind them during tough situations, but conceded that the fans have the right to express their feelings.
When asked if the players had spoken about their disastrous showing against Chelsea and the boos from the stands, the Spurs number one said (via Football.London): “We have spoken. I think probably in some moments during the game … probably when we are chasing, we need to have a little more cool heads and if we have a little bit more help from some situations coming from the stands it could be, of course, better, but we cannot control it,” said the goalkeeper.
“At the end, of course, everyone was disappointed. We had lost a London derby, so everyone was really frustrated, and we get the reaction of the fans at the end of the game. They can express their pain, and we were of course in a big pain situation, so that’s across every stadium in the world, in Europe, in the UK. So we get the point. We were just disappointed with the result.”
Vicario is not fazed by a few boos from the stands
The 28-year-old insisted that he has no issues with the fan reaction, admitting that he has seen much worse in his career in Italian football.
The goalkeeper remarked that it is up to him and his teammates to turn the situation around and get the supporters onside.
Vicario added about the fan reaction against Chelsea: “It’s normal. I was a fan when I was a kid, and going to the stadium, I saw many of these things. Probably in Italy it’s also a little bit worse when you go, so I have big shoulders about that, it’s not a big problem.
“It’s like when you go to the theatre and you see a show and you don’t like it and you express your reactions, your feelings. The main thing is for us to concentrate on what we have to do on the pitch, because it’s on us to turn around the situation.”
