According to DataMB, Vicario ranks at the very top of the tree for several goalkeeping stats when compared to other Premier League keepers.
The data analysis platform has revealed that Tottenham’s number one ranks first in goals prevented, saves percentage, number of touches, total passes completed and short passes completed.
He also ranks first for completed passes and short passes across Europe’s top five leagues.
Why Vicario is indispensable to this Spurs side
The numbers clearly show that the 28-year-old is doing well when it comes to shot-stopping as well as with the ball at his feet, but that is not his only value addition to the side.
Thomas Frank has named Vicario in his five-man Tottenham leadership group, which shows that the Dane and his coaching staff value what he brings to the dressing room.
He is not the only one to arrive at that judgement, as Vicario was also part of Tottenham’s leadership group under Ange Postecoglou.
