Guillem Balague raved about ‘extraordinary’ Spurs target back in November

If recent reports in the press are to be believed, then the Champions League final against Liverpool is likely to be Christian Eriksen’s final game for Tottenham, as the Dane is rumoured to be interesting Real Madrid this summer (AS).

Spurs are thus said to be seeking replacements for the playmaker, and one player who the club are said to have made a bid for is Real Betis midfielder Giovani Lo Celso. BBC Sport reported that Tottenham’s initial bid of £53m for the Argentine has been rejected.

Lo Celso, had a sensation season at Betis, netting 16 goals and providing 11 assists in all competitions last season. Paris Saint-Germain must surely be ruing the fact that they let Lo Celso leave on a loan with an option to buy as Betis now look to more than double the price they paid for the silky left-footer (France 24).

It looks like the Argentine’s performance against Barcelona this season caught the eye of Spanish football pundit Guillem Balague.
