Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to react to the news that club captain Hugo Lloris is expected to be out of action for the remainder of 2019.
The official Spurs site released a statement earlier this evening confirming that the Frenchman had dislocated his elbow, which is now in a brace and is expected to return next year.
Lloris was somewhat the master of his own downfall when he made an error for the second Premier League game in a row in which he gifted the opposition a goal, however, the gaffe at Brighton also saw him suffer the injury.
His absence will see Paulo Gazzaniga become the club’s first choice goalkeeper with Alfie Whiteman, who has never made a senior appearance become his understudy.
The experienced Michel Vorm departed North London when his contract expired at the end last season which has now exposed our relative inexperience in the goalkeeping ranks.
Here’s how some fans have reacted on social media.
Time for Kane to take the captaincy and turn the team around…unfortunate for Lloris , but everything in life happens for a reason .???

Gazzaniga with a good run of games will show what he can do

Sad to hear, get well soon Hugo.
If you’re telling us we won’t see him until next year, it might be a good idea to buy a new goalkeeper. Hugo will be 34 next season and, let’s be frank, is on the decline.
It’s evident that we need a keeper to match our style. Invest.
