It looks as if Jermaine Jenas is going to have to wait a while longer before he makes his debut for Aston Villa.
Many Spurs fans were delighted when the midfielder joined Villa on a season-long loan deal in the summer and he is yet to make an appearance due to a thigh injury and then an Achilles problem.
Jenas really needs to make an impression at Villa, his time at Spurs looks to be numbered with the abundance of quality we have in our midfield – if we can recoup £8million or so in the process then it’s only good for us!
Villa boss Alex McLeish told a press conference: “I certainly know from the club doctor that he’s not as bad as we first feared.
“But the only disadvantage Jermaine has is that he’s short of match fitness which he won’t get until he starts playing games.
“I would have thought he’s three or four games away yet. He’s gutted about it.”
