‘Had a meeting’ – Agent sheds light on Tottenham star’s plans to give back

Radu Dragusin’s agent Florian Manea has revealed that the centre-back is keen on building a football academy back in Romania.

Tottenham fans got their first extended glimpse of Dragusin against Aston Villa last Sunday, with the 22-year-old getting nearly an entire half of football under his belt after Micky van de Ven went off with an injury at the start of the second period.

The former Genoa man certainly did not look fazed, delivering a composed display as Spurs kept a clean sheet and put four past Unai Emery’s men.

A couple of days ago, The Athletic revealed that Dragusin had impressed the coaching staff at Tottenham, not just with the way he trains but also with the meticulous way in which he prepares.

The report stated that the centre-back is a perfectionist when it comes to his fitness and conditioning and he tends to measure his own food and have gym sessions before and after training.

The outlet added that Dragusin enjoys playing chess and that he currently has a year left on a degree course he is pursuing in Romania.

Radu Draguin wants to build a Romanian academy

Manea has now revealed that his client is also keen on giving back and is thus planning on starting a football academy back in his home county.

Dragusin’s agent told Fanatik: “We actually had a meeting with someone to help us do these things. He wants to invest time in the things he’s passionate about and then we’ll probably come up with some stuff.

“We would like an academy in the future, especially for him. I’d like to do that, but for now we have to cement our situation here. Then we can think about other things.”

When asked about the defender’s time at Tottenham so far, Manea said: “For now, the only thing on his mind is to play well, match by match. To get as many minutes as possible.”

Dragusin is clearly an intelligent and conscientious young man, who appears to be quite mature for someone who only recently turned 22. One can certainly understand why Postecoglou was quite keen on bringing the Romanian to Spurs.
