Harry Kane gives update on ankle knock following win against Brighton

Harry Kane has provided an update on the late blow he took on his ankle during Tottenham Hotspur’s 1-0 win at Brighton and Hove Albion.

Tottenham came into the fixture on the back of a difficult few days following the passing of Gian Piero Ventrone and honoured their fitness coach by taking all three points at the Amex Stadium.

Kane gave Spurs the lead in the first half when he stopped low to head home Heung-min Son’s cross to beat Robert Sanchez in the Seagulls’ goal.

The England captain showed his commitment with his defensive duties late on when he put out a leg to deny Alexis Mac Alister a clear shooting opportunity, with the Argentine instead of making contact with the ball, kicked the ankle of Kane.

After receiving treatment on the pitch, the striker hobbled off to the touchline having been immediately substituted by Antonio Conte.

Kane told Sky Sports Main Event (08/10/22 – 19:35) after the win: “It’s just a knock I think. Worth it when you win the game.”

Many Spurs fans had their hearts in their mouths when they saw Kane clutching his ankle on the ground, thankfully it looks like the marksman is fine and will be fit and ready to face Eintracht Frankfurt in midweek.
