Harry Kane issues rallying cry on social media after Aston Villa win

Tottenham Hotspur bounced back from a difficult week with a hard fought 2-0 victory against Aston Villa last night.

The knives have been out with some sections of the North London fanbase for Jose Mourinho after the club suffered disappointing defeats to rivals Arsenal and also a humiliating exit in the Europa League at the hands of Dinamo Zagreb.

The pressure was on Mourinho’s side to take all three points from the clash at Villa Park with the Portuguese making changes from the trip to Croatia.

Despite Villa looking the most likely to score in the opening 25 minutes, it was Spurs who went ahead when a Lucas Moura linked up with Harry Kane to allow Carlos Vinicius to tap home.

Kane got on the scoresheet in the second half after he was brought down in the penalty area by Matty Cash and dusted himself off to bury the ball into the bottom corner.

After the match, Kane took to Twitter to admit that the result was much needed and issued a challenge that they need to take the attitude they showed into the rest of the campaign.
