Harry Kane mentions Heung-min Son in his latest Bayern Munich interview

Harry Kane scored a hattrick as Bayern Munich destroyed Mainz this weekend, but it was an assist for a Jamal Musiala goal that caught the eye, as the striker reveals it was part of a similar move to one he used to see Heung-min Son carry out when they played together at Tottenham.

While Bayern Munich appear to be losing their grip on the Bundesliga this season, it is not for the want of trying on Harry Kane‘s behalf. Since making the move to Germany, the England captain has contributed 36 goals and 11 assists in all competitions for his new team (Transfermarkt).

Kane was instrumental in Bayern’s latest win, an 8-1 demolition of struggling Mainz at the Allianz Arena. The 30-year-old bagged yet another three goals himself, and also added two assists to help his team to the huge victory.

Harry Kane registers one of his best-ever assists

Discussing one of those assists, which saw him play through Jamal Musiala with a cross-field ball, Kane explained how it was reminiscent of a move he and Heung-min Son perfected when they were partners at Spurs.

Kane said (via talkSPORT): “At Spurs, Son would always make that run and I’d always look for that pass. So I spoke to Jamal about it and I caught him out the corner of my eye today. He practices that shift and shot a lot. One of the best assists of my career.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I may be reading too much into it, but it feels like Kane is really missing Sonny lately. Things aren’t quite going to plan at Bayern, and while I don’t believe he will abandon ship or anything, I do think Kane will possibly be regretting leaving Spurs, especially given the kind of football we are playing now.
