Harry Kane reaches significant Premier League milestone with goal against Brighton

Harry Kane’s goal against Brighton has pushed the Tottenham Hotspur striker into the all-time top ten Premier League goalscorer list.

There was some controversy surrounding the award of the penalty in the first-half but Kane typically made no mistake from the spot.

The goal took the striker’s Premier League goal tally to 149, which ties him with another former Spurs striker, Les Ferdinand in 10th place (PremierLeague.com).

Among the players who are currently still playing, only Sergio Aguero is above the Tottenham man on the list, with the Argentine having found the back of the net 180 times for Manchester City in the Premier League.

Kane surpassed Teddy Sheringham’s tally just a couple of weeks ago and he now needs 14 more to go past another Tottenham legend in Jermain Defoe, who is currently in 8th place with 162 strikes.

However, with a number of years of football still left in him, Kane will be eying Alan Sherer’s all-time record tally of 260.
