Harry Kane reveals his two favourite goal combinations with Heung-min Son

Harry Kane has named his and Heung-min Son’s goal combinations in Tottenham’s win over Arsenal last season as his favourites in their record-breaking collection.

Kane and Son set a new Premier League record by combining for 37 goals in the top-flight – eclipsing the tally previously held by Chelsea pair Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba.

The Spurs duo have cropped up with plenty of key strikes on big occasions in the division, but two against rivals Arsenal last year have stood out in particular for England captain Kane.

Spurs beat the Gunners 2-0 in front of a few thousand at a Covid-restricted Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last season, with the hosts’ frontmen having a hand in both goals.

Son opened the scoring with a stunning effort from distance after being set on his way by Kane, before the favour was returned with the latter then lashing in Tottenham’s second off the underside of the crossbar.

As such, Kane did not hesitate to mention the pair of strikes as his favourite combinations when quizzed on the matter.

He told Soccer AM (05/03/22): “I liked both goals against Arsenal. When we won 2-0. I think the games are important.

“I think the bigger the game and it makes it a bit more special. Sonny’s goal, that first goal. I just played him on the halfway line and he did the rest.

“Even the second goal, the counter-attack was nice.”

Kane and Son have been racing towards that record, especially over the last couple of seasons, so it was inevitable that they would break it.

Their display in the derby at home last season was so deadly and highlighted just how good their partnership really is.
