Harry Kane has admitted that Antonio Conte has changed the culture at Tottenham since he arrived at the club at the start of November.
Spurs have lost just once in the Premier League under the Italian and are now in with a shot of Champions League qualification, sitting just two points of Manchester United in fourth, with two games in hand over the Red Devils.
In Conte’s first transfer window as Tottenham head coach, the North London club offloaded the likes of Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso and Dele Alli.
The club also brought in Juventus duo Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur – two players who have a reputation of being real grafters on the bench.
Tottenham’s transfer business certainly hints at the type of squad Conte wants to build at the club, and Kane has admitted that work ethic is one of the most important aspects that the Italian stresses on.
When asked about the impact that the 52-year-old has had, he told Amazon Prime’s YouTube Channel (starting at 3:15): “He’s been great. He’s brought a real good culture to the team so far. Obviously, he has a great work ethic, on the pitch and in the meeting room.
“And away from football as well, in terms of recovery and just doing everything possible to make the little differences to win games. So, it’s been great to work with him and learn in the short space of time the way he wants to play and his vision of football.
“Hopefully, we can continue to improve. I’m looking forward to the months ahead. We have some big games coming up. Hopefully, we can show that the hard work is paying off by picking up some good wins.”
Spurs Web Opinion
Sacrificing oneself for the betterment of the team seems like a non-negotiable for Conte. That is why I believe that the Italian would love working with Kane and Son.
Despite possessing unbelievable ability, both Kane and Son are players who are willing to work hard for the team, unlike some other world-class forwards who tend to save their energy to produce in front of goal.
