Harry Kane sends emotional message to Spurs fans after defeat

Harry Kane has taken to Twitter to post an emotional thank you to the supporters of Tottenham Hotspur following the Champions League defeat to Liverpool in Madrid yesterday evening.

Kane came back into Mauricio Pochettino’s starting line up for the European showpiece having only recently recovered from an ankle injury which had kept him out of action since playing against Manchester City on April 9th.

The striker was largely anonymous throughout the final and only managed to touch the ball 26 times over the 90 minutes; in fact out of the 22 players who started the match it was Kane who had the least touches of the ball.

Pochettino’s gamble of bringing back the England forward, unfortunately, didn’t pay off and Lucas Moura, who we largely had to thank for our place in the final had to make do with a place on the bench.

Here’s what Kane had to say on Twitter earlier today.
