Harry Kane sends message of good luck to recently-departed Spurs team-mate

Harry Kane has sent a classy farewell message to Christian Eriksen after the midfielder swapped Spurs for Serie A giants Inter Milan.

The playmaker departed North London earlier this week after a successful six and a half year spell at the club.

Since arriving at Spurs in 2013 from Ajax, Eriksen’s stats in the Premier League are up there with the best. However, his form in recent months had seen him come under a lot of criticism (Sky Sports).

With his contract running out in the summer, the Lilywhites made the decision to part ways with the 27-year-old during the current transfer window in order to recoup some funds.

Kane was among several Spurs stars who wished Eriksen success in his new chapter with Antonio Conte’s side.

The England captain had forged a fantastic relationship on the pitch with the Danish international with the Dane providing more than one assist for the Spurs marksman over the years.

The Spurs striker took to social media to post the following message on hearing of Eriksen’s departure:

While I was all for the idea of the club looking to get rid of Eriksen as quickly as we can, it does hurt a little now that the transfer has materialised. It is extremely sad how things ended in the end but I for one will remember him as one of our modern-day greats.
