Harry Kane sends message to fans ahead of massive London derbies

Harry Kane’s long-awaited return from injury was soured by the fact that Spurs ended up on the wrong side of a 2-1 result at Turf Moor on Saturday. To people’s surprise, Pochettino decided to give Kane a start, in what was his first game since injuring his ankle against Manchester United in the middle of January.

The England captain marked his return with a typically well-taken goal as he got in behind the Burnley defence after capitalising on a quick throw-in by Danny Rose, held off Ben Mee and stroked the ball past Tom Heaton with the outside of his foot.

However, a header from Chris Wood and a late strike by Ashley Barnes either side of Kane’s goal meant that Tottenham had to go home without any points. Despite the negative result, the one positive to come off the game was Harry Kane’s performance.

The 25-year-old played the full ninety minutes and looked quite sharp while dropping deep and getting involved in the build-up play, and getting snapshots away. Tottenham will now face two back to back London derbies against Chelsea and Arsenal in a space of three days, and they certainly need Kane firing to get six points off those games.

Tottenham’s number 10 has now taken to Twitter to send fans a message ahead of the big derbies.
