Harry Kane sends message to Gareth Bale after scoring winner against Brighton

Tottenham Hotspur climbed up to second in the Premier League table following last night’s 2-1 victory against Brighton.

Jose Mourinho’s side started the match in convincing fashion and went ahead on thirteen minutes when Adam Lallana clattered into Harry Kane on the edge of the penalty area which saw VAR award the penalty.

Kane dusted himself off and buried the spot kick with his typical convincing fashion in what was his 149th Premier League goal.

Spurs failed to push on and continue to threaten the visitors and instead allowed Graham Potters side to get back into the game.

Brighton levelled on 56 minutes when Tariq Lamptey slotted home, however, it was in controversial fashion after it appeared that Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg was fouled in the build-up to the goal only for referee Graham Scott to check the footage on the pitchside monitor and still award the equaliser.

Mourinho waited just four minutes later to introduce Gareth Bale and the decision paid off after the Welshman headed home what proved to be the winning goal.

After the match, Kane took to Instagram to reflect on the victory and also to congratulate Bale on his goal.
