Harry Kane singles out player for praise after Dortmund win

Tottenham Hotspur produced a stellar second-half performance to brush aside Borussia Dortmund 3-0 at Wembley Stadium.

What made the performance and result even more impressive was the fact that Spurs were missing several of their stars including the likes of Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Danny Rose, and Ben Davies.

Pochettino has confirmed that Harry Kane, who is ahead of schedule with respect to his recovery, might return to action in Spurs’ next Premier League fixture against Burnley. The England captain reacted to Tottenham’s win and singled out one player’s performance in particular for praise.

Vertonghen had to deputise at left wing back with both Rose and Davies out, and the 31-year-old put in a fantastic performance, going up and down the pitch all game. Vertonghen set up Son’s first goal with a lovely cross and then scored the second after arriving into the box to turn in Aurier’s delivery.

Tottenham will now have a week and a half of rest before they play Burnley, which will give their injured players some much needed time to recover.
